RE:SCORE - ‘A Family Affair’ film score

Re:Score sees original musical compositions written to historical, silent archive footage to create modern and alternative soundtracks to seemingly forgotten films. These short films, complete with new music from various independent artists, form a series of commissions by The Broken Orchestra.

This Re:Score sees the attention focus onto meaningful and narrative based footage. Produced by Stewart Baxter, along with his band LIFE, they created an original score for 'A Family Affair', a piece of film from the 1960s showing the work of Hull’s Sailors' Children's Society, an important organisation at the heart of working class life amongst the families of fishermen in the city. The legacy of the fishing industry and its subsequent demise has played a major role in the identity of the city to this day.

Presented by Freedom Festival, produced by The Broken Orchestra in association with British Film Institute, Film Hub North and Yorkshire Film Archive.
